how do i paint avinyl covered gypsum wall panels?

If wallpaper- best to strip it off then paint as usual. Pull vinyl off first which will leave paper backing. Get an enzyme stripper- add to water and roll it on. Wait a few minutes and scrape it off.

If the vinyl is not paper, but secure to wall, use Zinsser 123 acrylic primer (Blue Label). This is the best primer and will stick to anything. Let dry thoroughly, then paint with whatever paint you desire.
